The Nike logo graphic at front has established a true foothold in two separate looks, one as a lifestyle shoe and one embracing its skate history. With intentions towards the latter, the Nike logo graphic at front Mid “Red/Gum” slots in as an exclusive drop for skaters rolling out as part of the Spring ’24 slate.
The red leather, gum sole and white branding is a successful, complementary do for the Blazer, but isn’t necessarily anything revolutionary. We’ve seen similar colorways just this year via the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 “Layers Of Love,” and an almost identical version (save for suede in the place of leather) release on the Mid 77 back in 2020. Rehashing this palette from those sneakers comes with some level of intention in this case, however. A corresponding Nike SB Janoski and Nike SB Dunk Low will be arriving alongside these, creating a de facto “pack” of Orange Label pairs hitting shelves.
Speaking of, what this release has over those other aforementioned Blazers is an eye towards ensuring the target demographic does, in fact, get their hands on them. As a drop under the Orange Label program, stock will only be given to skate shops. While for a pair like this, you likely won’t have to kick flip to get your hands on a pair, it is certainly a thoughtful gesture out of Beaverton to put guidelines in place with hopes these skate shoes will get used for exactly that.
With that EXCEE, if previous Orange Label releases inform the schedule for the “Red/Gum” Blazer Mid, keep an eye out at your local skate retailerss and their websites, rash to receive stock in batches over the next several weeks. Anticipate a sticker price of $90 if and when you come across them.
In more flashy Nike release news, the Jordan 3 “Black Cement Reimagined” enters the mix as the hottest holiday release towards the end of the year.
