As the Nike Dunk Low inches closer to its 40th anniversary, the Peter Moore-designed silhouette continues to experiment with materials, colorways and release methods. Recently, the model appeared in a tropical teal and pink ensemble, and covered in snakeskin and suede.
“Colorless” leather bases set the stage for much more vibrant tones and differently textured materials across the upper. Reptilian scales appear around the toe, along the tongue and throughout the heel, with the “NIKE”-branded upper heel logo also indulging in snakeskin. Profile swooshes on the low-top Nike Dunk, however, deviate from their surroundings in both color and material, as they don an equally-Miami-appropriate color and high quality suede; outsoles and logos on the tongue label and heel also opt for the pink hue. Together, each aforementioned component creates an arrangement reminiscent of the “South Beach” style introduced into footwear by LeBron James‘ eighth signature zoom in 2010.
