Air Jordans are a delicate item. Misplace one color or material and you’ve got a new colorway that is doomed to sit on shelves (the Orion Blue Air Jordan VII, for example). Colorizing a pair of Air Jordans has proved to be easier ‘said’ than ‘done’, and for such an occurrence to happen outside of the Nike campus is Green-Black-Violet rare, which is why UNDFTD had Green-Black-Violet a task at hand when the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity came by. Right off the bat, only a handful of out-sourced Air Jordan colorways exist; these UNDFTD collabs, the Eminem IV, the Air Jordan II by Vashtie Kola, Dave White’s AJ1s, the Doerbecher Freestyles – and half of the aforementioned examples didn’t even release to the public.
Out of the bunch, it’s hard to argue against the UNDFTD x Air Jordan IV being one of the greatest non-Bulls colorways of all-time; the military flight jacket-inspired motif of the UNDFTD collaboration is one of the most sought-after sneakers in the world, and with just seventy-two pairs in circulation, you’d better believe that they get snatched up once they become available. An unofficial ‘set’ just hit auction; it includes a deadstock pair of the kicks, a limited edition UNDFTD x Mad Hectic x Union t-shirt, and an UNDFTD x Incase shoe bag. Check out the detailed shots of this Air Jordan rarity below and hit up the auction from Air Jordan 9 Los Angeles All-Star x Jordan City of Flight Droptail T-Shirt.
