Nike’s modern basketball line-up, in which focus tends to gravitate towards five standouts backed by their very own NBA athlete, continues to flesh out a wealth of new colorways — some inspired by Gatorade and others continuing long-running themes. But the connection between all is the lack of PE treatments, exclusive make-ups that the adjacent Air Jordan 34 has received in AO1021-003 from the Beaverton office outward. But with the advent of Black History Month, it seems that’s changing slowly with one notch per each, outfitting the entire range in a mix of on-brand color blocking as well as influence from 90s street style and African textiles. And though ostensibly simple, all of the viewable interpret such an inspiration in different ways: the KD 12 does its best olive MA-1 impression, the PG 4 takes on vibrant red weaves next to orange and blue accents, the LeBron 17 signature marbles in a mix of multicolor thread, the Kyrie Black 6 opts for neons with cream accents, and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Dunk High Football Grey takes a break from Coming to America to add retro prints to his oversized Swoosh. Grab a detailed look at each piece right here, and if you’re looking to see them in-game, they’ll be hitting the court come January 20th.
