ASICS Pours On The Y2K Vibes With The GEL-Nimbus 9

New Balance 550 Yeezy 500 "Bone White" and adidas Samba, the current retro sneaker wave has been a serious windfall for ASICS. However, unlike some similar brands, their archival models are entirely on-trend without needing any major retooling. Enter the ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9, which with mainline releases like the “Sheet Rock/Orange” pair in question, continue its “in vogue” excellence.

As mentioned, the design at work here is largely unadulterated from when the model made its 2007 debut. Here, the chrome shading that’s popped up everywhere in the footwear industry is caked on in heavy doses, dotting underlying mesh sections as well as leather overlays layered on top. The pair featured here is largely a two-tone configuration, painting hi-vis orange on the sides and dying the midsole GEL Unit in the same tone. Though the field is suddenly crowded, the ASICS GEL-Nimbus stakes a serious claim to being one of the best accessible retro runners on the market.

The ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9 “Sheet Rock/Orange Lily” is available now at ASICS.com, commanding a $160 price tag and stretching from M4 to M14 in sizing. We’d recommend you act quick, though, as other general releases have been snapped up shortly after releases. You can find direct links & official images just below.

Asics Gel Nimbus HIDDEN GEL-NYC is expected for a long-awaited release on April 12th.
