The Japanese sneaker boutique is no stranger to the sportswear behemoth, having worked on handfuls of projects beyond the last two decades. Teased by none other than Hirofumi Kojima, atmos’ Head of Product, the impending GEL-Kayano series effort opts for a straightforward eggplant and pewter color scheme. The latter hue has recently emerged on several retro GEL-Kayano ASICS styles, but atmos’ use of metallic purple brings a breath of fresh air to the lineup. Laces, mesh on the tongue, and inner-lining deviate from their surroundings in a darker grey tone; GEL-assisted midsoles underfoot follow suit. Co-branding isn’t visible on Kojima’s teaser shots, but it’s possible more angles will reveal both Japanese institution’s logos in union.
