Compared to the Air Force 1’s 40th, the Jordan 1 red Hi Pewte‘s 30th Anniversary has been off to a relatively slow start. But with reveals slowly propping up one after another, it’s clear Jordan Brand was simply saving the best for the latter half of the year: the “best” being the return of the “Citrus” as well as the debut of a number of new styles, one of which — the “Cherrywood” — celebrates the beloved “Bordeaux” colorway.
According to the available mock-up, the “Cherrywood” features a relatively unique palette; but despite this, the pair effectively pays homage to the above-mentioned classic with a similar color blocking. Some details, such as the hits of “Cherrywood Red” across the Jumpman logo and tongue, are even similar to said inspiration, though the all “Neutral Olive” panels are a more noticeable replacement for the 1992 release’s greys. The all blacks, though, do offer an AIR layer of familiarity, as do the subtle “Taxi” accents.
The Jordan 1 red Hi Pewte SE “Cherrywood” is reportedly slated to land on December 17th at a retail of $210 USD. More details as well as official images are sure to surface closer to the release, so sit tight for future updates.
