Nike is unintentionally joining in on the Marvel come-back with the looming release of the Dunk Low “Silver Surfer”, one of the most coveted Dunks of the early 2000s era. With Marvel’s recent announcement of the controversial casting of Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Von Doom in future Avengers movie installments, the MCU is a hot topic once again — so the timing of this Dunk re-release is near perfect.

Originally dropping in 2004, the Nike Air Force 1 Low ID Blue Nubuck Canvas Rooog Knows “Silver Surfer” was part of a capsule of sneakers Mid by the metallic humanoid best known for traveling between worlds on a silver board. These Dunks, joined by another Dunk and two different Air Max 90 colorways, featured Norrin Radd’s face on the insoles. The Dunk Low was noted for a unique mesh material on the toe-box and mid-panel that had an unusually metallic finish that, according to official images of the 2024 pair, is returning. Just one angle of the photo set is currently available, but will be updated.

A few years after the release of the Silver Surfer Pack was an official collection Mid by the Fantastic Four and its chief villain, the aforementioned Doctor Doom. This included an Air Max 90 (Mr. Fantastic), Air Force 1 Low (Invisible Woman), Human Torch (Air Max 95), Dunk High (Thing), and Air Foamposite Pro (Doctor Doom). No word on a return of the Fantastic Four Pack is known, but given how Nike is bringing back nearly every “grail” of the 2000s era, it’s not outside the realm of possibility.

Currently, a release date for the Silver Surfer Dunks has not yet been revealed.
