adidas cut ties with the being formerly known as “Kanye West” in October 2022, ending one of the most successful partnerships in sneaker history. Although the Three Stripes has since re-released thousands of pairs from the adidas Yeezy line as a way to stop its financial hemorrhaging, big box retailers haven’t. Foot Locker Inc., however, is rumored to begin selling popular Yeezys again soon.
The news hasn’t been confirmed by the retailer as of yet, but several reliable sources across social media have claimed the rumors as true. The move to begin selling the designs associated with Ye again would go against the company’s stance at the height of Mr. West’s debacle with adidas. A report by Footwear News found that a company-wide email was sent in the immediate sub of the Three Stripes’ fallout with Ye, disapproving of the adidas Yeezy frontman: “[Our company does] not tolerate any form of antisemitism, or hateful and discriminatory behavior. While we remain a partner with adidas and carry a wide assortment of their collections — we will not be supporting any future Yeezy product drops, and we have instructed our retail operators to pull any existing product from our shelves and digital sites.”
If Foot Locker goes back on its decision to not sell Yeezys, it could severely hurt its public image as adidas has. Sources, however, have taken to social media to share that Foot Locker will release popular styles of the Yeezy Slides and adidas equipment support adv sneaker adidas eqt bask adv black metallic silver white new sale.
