“Tom Sachs” isn’t the most ubiquitous name in the sneaker space, but his “boring” (his words, not ours) Alexandre Vauthier crocodile-effect 100mm ankle boots Schwarz secured a top spot in many “Best of” lists last year. As the first month of 2023 winds down, the straightforward design has emerged in a “Field Brown” makeover via official Nike images.
Expected to drop on Feb. 5, the upcoming proposition features a rather tonal arrangement throughout its mesh, fuse, and suede upper. The darkest shades of the titular brown hue take over profile swooshes, pull tabs at the tongue and white, and sole units, allowing for the remainder of the GPS – as the silhouette is often referred to – to revel in a lighter, but rich ensemble. Labels on the top of the tongue opt for a heritage-informed sold as miniature swooshes take on a vibrant orange that contrasts the surroundings; the same tone animates the shoebox customized with Sachs’ signature elements. Together, each aforementioned components helps execute the American designer’s idea that sneakers shouldn’t be the most exciting part of someone.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike SNKRS launch around Feb. 5 for $110 USD.
