Salehe Bembury And New Balance Close Out The 574 YURT “Universal Communication” Pack

Quickly becoming one of sneaker culture’s most exciting collaborators, Salehe Bembury has laid claim to the best releases of the past few years, from his 2002R to his Pollex Clog. And now, for 2022, the designer is reuniting with New Balance for three new colorways of the 574 YURT.

Unveiled and released during the Fall of last year, the 574 YURT completely reimagines the original model. And it’s not just the paneling and midsole that’s received tweaks, as a whistle is affixed to the heel, adding a utility befitting the great outdoors. The two inaugural colorways were also appropriate for the setting, as each was equally inspired by nature. In terms of its construction, plush suedes build out many of the overlays, while mesh inserts itself into the toe and ankle. Leather trims and paneling are also in tow, completing an upper balanced perfectly by a similarly sizable sole unit.

Just in time for the Spring, Bembury and New Balance have announced the second installment of the “Universal Communication” Pack, which sees the above-mentioned shoe clad in three additional colorways. Vibrant green suedes adorn one, likely referencing the lush greens found in the wild; a dark grey arrangement joins alongside, with purple clashing against the toe and sole; and then finally, the trio is rounded out by a natural third, whose tan suedes and mesh are complemented by pink and blue accents.
