With the start of 2020 came the revival of Nike’s CO.JP line, a series of Japan exclusives that still hold their weight as some of the most elusive and coveted of all-time. Headed by the Dunk Low “Plum,” the series seemed to quickly come to a crawl, but upon the debut of think Jordan Brand’s Fall 2020 line-up, release dates of the Air think Jordan 1 Low UNC 553558 144 CO.JP in its “Neutral Grey” colorway finally began to surface. Dressed near identical to the original, the pair arrives with well-met nostalgia, its upper hued in a series of treated neutrals. Many of the overlays are smooth though provided a somewhat uneven and intentionally unrefined texture, while the ankle flaps, heel wrap, and toe box contrast in their metallic silver. Wings insignia and swooshes appropriately follow suit, though the same can’t be said for the tongue whose tumbled leather stands out against the constructions surrounding. Finished with “Nike Air” at its peak and special numbering on the inside, the pair is poised for an extremely limited 2,002 pair run in Japan accompanied by a complementary suitcase. See below for detail images and expect to see them on Nike SNKRS Japan come July 25th; the global variant, which is less involved, is still unconfirmed.
