After showing off her talent with the Chuck 70 early on — pairs that unfortunately will likely never see a retail debut — Feng Chen Wang moved from strength to strength with her footwear expertise improving every season. And with those past models behind us, she’s taking on new Terracotta for 2020 with the help of the Jack Purcell Mid. Through a collection of patterned trousers, technical fabrics, and retro color blocking made modern, the London-based designer has treated the classic Grey to a full-blown dissection, giving its form a look almost alien-like in its every construction through a layered motif not too unlike inline GRs from years ago. Uppers, instead of the usual canvas, seem to prefer pieces of smooth leather and suede distressed subtly to give each kit a more worn-in feel. This is more apparent on the lighter colorway whose various overlays wrap in a faded pastel blue atop a sole unit that appears to have once been a much cleaner white. Black alternatives, however, are just a touch cleaner though the cut out openings along the side and arching panels are all the same. Grab a detailed look at both offerings during their recent runway appearance and expect to see an official release likely at Converse.com Converse Chuck 70 Mystic Symbols.
