For the 11th time in history, the Final Four will be comprised of teams solely sponsored by Nike for both the men’s and women’s tournaments. The March Madness numbers are staggering: in the past decade alone, the Swoosh has sponsored around 80 percent of Division 1 Final Four training appearances. Looking at the tournament as a whole, 69 percent of this year’s men’s tournament featured teams representing Nike, while the women’s tournament fielded well over half at 58 percent. So how many teams have won the NCAA Division 1 Championship wearing Nike branding? After a guaranteed Nike victory this year, 16 men’s teams and 13 women’s teams have cut down the nets while saluting the Swoosh. That’s dominance.
