What’s New
The biggest changes that New Balance made were to the heel geometry and Fresh Foam cushioning. New Balance added more Fresh Foam X cushion under foot, raising the stack height a millimeter and making it softer, as well as giving it more energy return. They took out a portion of the cushioning on the outsole of the heel, which allows the heel to splay more on impact and provide a bouncier feel.
Designers also changed the upper, making it slightly more streamlined with more structure throughout the midsole. A streamlined tongue improves breathability and fits the foot more comfortably.
