At this point, the adidas Samba has become a defining shoe of the current sneaker world. With much of its appeal coming from its timeless construction and accessible price point, the adidas is bucking convention for its newest edition. The “Made In Italy” version swaps to luxe materials and designer manufacturing, hiking the price point up in turn.

Though the leather appears familiar at first glance, it’s also refurbished for this new edition. Taken together, those changes speak to the Italian cobbling tradition, formally matched by the locally sourced materials that compose this shoe. Zooming out, it’s hard not to think of other recent international shifts in the wake of this sneaker, like the JJJJound the adidas Samba that famously laid claim to a “Made In Germany” stamp.
